Hi All
We have been asked to bring this survey to the attention of members. NRAS is not involved with the research in any way and if you are interested in participating please contact Jamie Morgan Evans as directly below:-
Postgraduate Research InterviewsLife with chronic illness can often inspire people to reconsider their bodies and their life-stories.
Disruption to the life-course is met with great resistance and can change the way we consider ourselves and the society we live in.
People turn to ideas in society to help restore health or indeed to find new ways of living with new conditions; people turn to 'faith', to 'science', to 'politics', to 'spirituality'. Some people take to doing new things, 'work', 'charity', 'writing' and 'sport', for example, all in an attempt to make sense of their conditions, all in an attempt to challenge illness. Some people learn to console their illness and live in peace with it allowing the illness itself to dictate how we see the world.
If you feel that you would like to discuss any of these issues in complete confidence under the ethical guidelines of the British Sociological Association and the Economic and Research Council then please feel free to contact me:
jam93@cam.ac.uk to arrange an interview. I am researching the above idea and would welcome the opportunity to conduct interviews for my sociological research.
With kind regards,
Jamie Morgan Evans
